The moisture level is the most critical part of how efficiently a log will burn. Too high in moisture will result in lots of smoke and steam producing less heat and very slow to burn.
Our seasoned dried logs are naturally dried over the course of 12 months which reduces their moisture content to between 15-25 % meaning they will produce more heat and burn more efficiently.

A softwood will always burn quicker than a hardwood meaning you will use more of them resulting in less heat. The disadvantage is they will cost more but if you want the fire to burn through the evening then a mix is what you want !
